Following the tragic death of Pietro Psaier in the 2004 Tsunami when his home on a peninsula in Sri Lanka was washed away and his body never recovered, the world of art has seen an increase of up to and over 1000% in worldwide auction houses in the past 18 months.

Collectors of his work are come from all works of life including royalty,  entertainment, sport and the general public.

Examples of Psaiers work can be found in homes, museums, art galeries, churches even in the Vatican where a depiction of Christ is hung and he was commissioned to carry out a series of paintings for France in memory of those lost in WW2.

Sadly,  it is only now that Psaier is receiving  the full recognition that he deserved in life as well as in death. Alongside, Andy Warhol, Joseph Bueys, Rupert Jasen Smith  and Rick Griffin, Psaier is now recognised as a leading exponent of the PopArt Movement.  Psaier was based at what was to become known as The Factory in New York where he worked alonside Warhol and collaborated with him on artworks.

Unlike Warhol, Psaier was a trained, classical artist and was highly respected by his peers and the art world. He was known by Warhol as 'Peter the Italian, and  Warhol's quote: Its not where Peter has been but where he is going' showed Warhols high regard for this extraordinary artist.

Psaier's work is diverse and controversial.  His commissions came again from all walks of life, they include: The Queen, Jackie Onassis, Marilyn Monroe, Freddie Mercury, Joseph Bueys, Andy Warhol, Chairman Mao, The Clash, The Rolling Stones  and the Beatles amongst many other prominent personalities from the past and the present. Despite his association with the PopArt world, Psaier was strongly political in his views and many of his works reflect this.

Although Psaier's work has seen such a high rise in value, works by him in the form of signed limited editions of what is normally no more than 100 and in many cases 10, can be within reach.

Psaiers artists proofs and limited editions are not prints, they are individual works of art produced alongside the original.

As the value of Psaier's works increases, the world of art is expecting to see another steep increase in the price of his work when he is sadly declared officially dead in 2011.

Alonside his PopArt 'canvasses' Psaier produced five extraordinary tables, one of which has been for sale from the collection of Sir Michael Caine at the asking price of £5,000. The table we now have for sale is titled: Air Art and was commissioned by Alex Kerr & Sons, Wiltshire Boulevard, USA.  The table consists of antique, now non funtioning Victorian air rifle underneath the wooden title: Air Art encased in glass and surrounded by cast iron.  Inside the glass and on the artwork beneath the rifles is Psaier's signature, along with other graphics.

This work is being sold for £5,000

Among other signed works we have by Psaier include portraits of Joseph Bueys, Marilyn Monroe and a work depicting the First Dial 1919 (Irish Parliament).

Works of other artist's in stock include those by Cecil Beaton and Hugh Casson.
